Happy Birthday Ashlynn!! 7 Years old!!!!!!

Our sweet Ashlynn is 7! Ashlynn Shipley Crockett was born June 27th at 2:20pm aweighing 6 lbs. 13 ozs. and was 19 inches long. I had a pretty good pregnancy with Ashlynn I was very sick for the first 4 months, and then finally got better. I was flying to Arizona it visit family at about 32 weeks & the airport was really busy so our plane circled and circled until we could land. All of the sudden the flight attendant said are you okay, and I said no I think my baby just turned breech. By the way it's not a cozy feeling. So a week later at my ultrasound (despite no one believing me!!) Ashlynn was suddenly breech. They wanted to turn her, but I wanted to wait as long as I could so I wouldn't have an early baby again. So at 2 1/2 weeks early they tried to turn her, my fluid was again to low so she wouldn't turn. So they took me in for a c-section that afternoon. . She was an amazing baby. Amazing , I really took her to the doctor because she cried all morning one day, and she had an ear infection. She was a harder 2 year-old but we later discovered she is very hypoglycemic and needs to eat every few hours (she takes snacks to school still). She wants to be a mommy when she grows up & is always wishing she was a "high schooler" as she calls it. She loves watching movies (Camp Rock is the new Favorite), and she is a great dancer. She is a very quick learner, she's a very sensitive child, and a dreamer. She has been a joy to us since they laid her in our arms. We love you so much Ashes!

My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad Birthday Party!

Samantha requested this party, she must be mine. I was very excited but I said ask your dad. And he jumped on board too. The girls all seemed to have a wonderful time! Their dad's seemed to have a great time also!
Here's a few of my favorite shots of Samantha!

1st game: Girl's Bubble Gum in a whip cream pie.
2nd game: Dad's Gummi worms in Oreo dirt!
These were my favorites!

3rd game : Relay Both Dad & Daughter find 4 flags in slime!
4th game: Waterslide down slime.
They were supposed to try to get flags while the slided, but it didn't work out to well, so they just waterslided. They seemed to enjoy that just as much!
Here's a few more pic & picture of the other dads & girls!

We then had a BBQ for all the Dads & Girls, opened presents made DAD keychains and they all got a #1 DAD Trophy! I think everyone had tons of fun, and I'm sure I will have to have another party involving slime for another one of my kids. I am so excited that the girls are all old enough (4th graders next year, wow!) to remember this forever!
By the way for all those who are concerned, yes I am partied out for a little while! Every year when it's the girls birthday's I think wow that's a lot of parties in a week. We should have planned that better our girls our 2 years, 2 days & 20 minutes apart.

Happy Birthday Sam!!!! 9 Years old!

Our Samantha is 9 today, this seems so crazy to me. I always rolled my eyes when the older sisters in my ward would tell me enjoy it now it goes by to quickly. They were right! Samantha Lyn Crockett was born on June 25th 1999 at 2:00 pm. She was 18 1/2 inches long and weighed 5 lbs. 11 oz. She was born 4 weeks early. I had a crazy pregnancy with her my placenta tore a little at 20 weeks so I was put on bedrest for 2 weeks while it healed. Then at 34 weeks the doctor said my fluid was on the low side and that I needed to try to stay off my feet. Which I didn't do very well at my 36 weeks appointment the doctor told us to go to the hospital and have our baby there was not enough fluid. So at 10:30am I went to the hospital at 5:00 pm the started inducing me, and at 2:00 pm the next day we have miss Samantha. She was a great baby and great toddler. She's been a blessing in our life everyday she's been in it. She is very busy with her social life, and loves school because she is with her friends all day long. She hates mornings, love spaghetti, likes things organized, loves to clean (only big projects when moms helping), she is pretty bossy, but gets along with others well. She's just starting the boy crazy days (I remember the many crushes I had in 4th grade). Happy Birthday Sis!

A Few Silly Moments!

1- Ashlynn FINALLLLLLY lost her other front tooth it has been hanging there for at least a month. Yeah!
2-Coleman had a hard time finding his swimsuit, so I said just wear the shorts your are wearing. So he went inside and came out with this plus a shirt. I noticed for a second "what is around his neck?" Later at dinner he came in and I said "why is the string of shorts around your neck?" He answered "if I don't keep it around my neck my pants fall off". And he had taken his underwear off so he'd be standing there naked!!
3- I'm making a pool of slime for Sam's birthday party. I had gone inside for 2 seconds and when I came back out, Jaxsyn had climbed into the pool. She looked up and said "swimming, mommy"!

100th Post!!!

I took off my 100 list, but I want to mark it because I pretty proud of it. I have hobby ADD where I fall in love with a hobby and then get bored of it after about 3 months! But I love having a record of our family, and I hope I will continue it on for a long time. Since a journal is not one of my strong points!!

All caught up!

Sorry for all the slideshows! I just took to many photos! I think I might go take a nap I told you it was a crazy week! This week is about 1/2 as crazy, but will be tons of fun!!!

Ashlynn's Spa Birthday Patry!

We got home at 10:30 from the campout and we were onto the next fun activity at 3:30!! Ashlynn's Friend birthday party, her birthday is on the 27th!! I had to plan it for Saturday because of other things planned. My mom, and sister-in-laws Christy & Tammy came to help. We did the girls hair and make-up, fingernails & gave them each a pedicure. I made them all spa towels (cut a towel in half and sew side and an elastic in the top). They all looked cute and Ashlynn said she had fun, she asked for this party 2 years ago when I did it for Sam, but it's better with 7 year olds, they love it. Ashlynn wanted a lipstick cake so I made on, but it's not great I had about 15 minutes to make it! Ashlynn got Littlest Pet Shops, one for the computer too, make, jewlery, and fashion papper doll making kit. After they were all done-up they had pizza & soda. then cake & ice cream all while they watched Camp Rock!

Ward Campout Hawaiian Style!

On Friday Night it was the ward campout! I'm the ward activities chairperson, so I'm in charge of the campout! We decided to have a Hawaiian Luau for dinner. So we had Kaula Pork, Huli Huli Chicken, rice (sticky of course), Pani-po-po (coconut rolls), & lots of salads (brought by ward members! For dessert we had Haipia Pudding (coconut pudding), grilled pineapple, & desserts brought by ward members, plus roasted marshmallows a little later. All in all I think we had about 200 or so people with about 60 who stayed over. We were lucky and we have a ward member from American Samoa who's twin sisters came and danced for us and taught us a dance too. The next morning we had Sausage Gravy & Biscuits, with eggs. The kids had honey & jam if they wanted. It went well and I'm glad it is over, I swear a accrue about 5 more wrinkles every activity!

Strawberry Days Rodeo

Last Thurday Night we all went to the rodeo. Strawberry Days Rodeo became a tradition the year I was pregnant with Samantha. The girls had a family baby shower for me that night, so the guys went to the rodeo. After that year we have always gone. I have taken all of my kids under one to the rodeo so anyone can do it. The hard year is Jaxsyn's age! They love the rodeo and want to stand and clap. But they are to small and will fall thru the bleachers. Jaxsyn did pretty well though! We love the strawberries & cream it's only $1.25. My whole family comes, and the kids actually know what is going on!

3 extra kids!

For about 24 hours I had 7 Kids! And wow it's more than 4! Last Tuesday Robby & Christy were helping with their wards youth conference. So I offered to take their boys overnight! They were good and my kids had a great time with them. Samantha & Ashlynn impressed me so much because at dinner the girls each took on twin and helped them get their dinner, then they helped bathe them and dress then in their PJ's. Then they had a movie night upstairs in their room (I had stitch club in my family room that night), and they helped make each of them a bed and then they slept by them and help with them all night! It was funny because in the morning Ashlynn came downstairs a said "I'm so tired Ayden woke up 2 times last night!" I could just picture how many nights in the future, she has ahead which will be worse than just 2 times a night. Coleman & Porter just treated it like a really long sleepover so they were in heaven! I did realize it is true, if you have a lot of kids they kind of take care of each other! But I'm still done with 4!!
P.S. I swear I do comb Jaxsyn's hair, it just gets really crazy, fast unless it's pulled in pony tails and she dosen't like pony tails very much!

Orem Summerfest 2008!

Okay Please forgive me I've been sooo busy this week so the blogging is a little behind! But we did so much fun stuff I can't leave anything out so here it comes all at you in a couple days!!

Last Saturday was Summerfest!! I love Summerfest it's a parade at night so you don't melt watching the same floats you could watch on the 4th of July!! The fireworks are awesome & we've gone so many years in a row I actually remember going when I was Sam's age! The kids love it and we hit the carnival, dinner, parade, & fireworks all in about 7 hours!!

Here's my proof about the fireworks! This is the finale!

You Are Mulan!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Strong and spirited. You're no one's girly girl; actually you are very determined person with a strong sense of self. Never let go of that! The only thing that equals your sense of self is your family, but the traditions of society can always be bent to protect something or someone you love.

Old Friends, new again!

This is Rafael Neilson, she was my best friend in Junior High. We went our separate ways in high school, I was really busy swimming & being boy crazy! But we ran into each other on Facebook, so we went out to dinner to get to know each other again. It was fun we went to Red Robin and the Bath & Body Works for the clearance sale. I had to run home quickly, I'd already hung out with friends the night before & was feeling guilty leaving my family. It was great to talk about how our lives are so different, she's living the single life & I'm married with 4 kids.

Happy Father's Day!

Ryan * My Dad* Ryan's Dad*
I'm so lucky to have a wonderful husband who is a great father to our four beautiful children. And to have been born to a great father who loves me and my family, especially my kids. And I was lucky a 3rd time when I married into Ryan's family and gained another great father in my life who loves us all so much, even in the Dominican Republic.
Ryan, I love you so much and I'm so glad my roommate dragged me out of bed to go to Sacrament when I wanted to sleep until Sunday School. I would have never met you (for those who don't know the story, it was his last Sunday in our ward and he wasn't in my Sunday School class). I am so glad that you help our children find the humor in everything, and you are so funny yourself. I love to laugh with you, and you make me feel so safe and warm. Thanks for the love you give me and the happy life we have found together.

CooolemmmaN!!!!

This story began about 2 1/2 weeks ago. The neighbor boy Landon, came in and said "Sister Crockett, Coleman cut the tramp!" "What" was my response. I preceded to run outside and found this hole, plus 5 others. I yelled for Coleman, who was hiding knowing he was in trouble. He said it was an accident and they were just jumping with the pocketknife open and he landed on it and it just cut the tramp. For me that was not any better, one of the boys could have lost a eye or cut themselves really badly. I told him that the 5 inches cut was not done by accident and to fess-up or get in more trouble. So he explained it was an accident at first then he and his friend each took a turn. And he cut the big hole. I sent his friends home and told him I was too mad to talk to him so go to your room until dad gets home (3 hours later). He actually stayed there for about 2 hrs. without talking I think he knew I meant business, I was too mad to even yell. We later decided he would have to do a chore everyday for 1 hour to pay back the cost of the tramp. He has to clean our unfinished basement, there are toys everywhere. He's still working on it, which it could have been done in 3 hours if an adult had done it. We had to order a whole new jumping mat and we had just ordered a new tramp pad so $250 later (more than we bought the original tramp for) we have a new trampoline!! The kids plus friends watched Ryan install it for an hour last night and counted down when they could jump again!! It does look good and it is a better quality. I never knew before I had kids, that they can make you more mad then you could ever imagine!! As you can see it still took 2 1/2 weeks until I could even post it on the blog!

Dentist Appointments!

Last Thursday we ALL had dentist cleanings! A day when all parents cross their fingers when the dentist is checking for cavities. Well we survived and made it out with only 1 tiny cavity on Coleman's back teeth. I must give all the credit to the weekly fluoride treatments given at school. I pay $5.00 per child per years for fluoride swish every Wednesday. Anyhow the photo's are of little Jaxsyn getting her teeth looked and a varnish treatment put on, thanks to Grandma being the hygienist she did a great job. I didn't take picture of the other kids, I didn't remember my camera was in my mom's purse until it was Jaxsyn's turn.

Monday, Manic Monday!

Well off to cooking class we went. So I could go shopping. I was sick with strep so I also had to pick up a prescription, which wasn't ready. Any how, the kids made cookie bouquets for father's day, which they ate on the way home, sorry daddy. Then we had to go a different store to buy spray paint. There was a teeter-ta-tor airplane which seats 7 kids. The kids loved it so I took their pictures. Jenni this is when the "wow you have 4 kids" comments came into play. The girls decided this is what they wanted for their birthday at $230 I'm guessing no, but they can hope. The other part is their dad would have to assemble it and it looks like that would take hours.

Ryan's work party!

Ryan's work had a Hawaiian luau for there summer party. It was pretty fun actually and the food was great. The kids had a great time playing with the parachute. And I finally remembered to have someone take a picture of all of together. Here's a few pictures of the day!

1- Coleman & Jaxsyn Kate eating the yummy food 2-Watching the dancers

3- Ashlynn practicing the dance 4-Sam & Ryan just being cute!

Bailey got baptized! Way to go!

On Saturday, Bailey Hirst was baptized. I was so busy helping Tammy & Shaun out with the dinner and I spoke at the baptism that I forgot to take a picture of her. I might get one from my mom later. The baptism went well both set of her parents were there. She was baptized by Nate Hirst, her uncle my brother. Speaking at her baptism was like speaking at my own child's baptism so that was hard. She had tons of family there supporting her, and it was my old ward when I was growing up so that made it fun to see parents of my friends when I was growing up.

The Beloved Nursery Bucket!

Jaxsyn was so excited last Sunday to get the treat bucket. She walked it out of the classroom and carried it all the way to the car. Then that afternoon when we were leaving for Sunday dinner she had to bring it with us. Well now she's in love with her nursery teachers guess who they are... Ryan & I. We are actually excited we started today & wow those kids can wear you out. When everyone shows up there would be 17 kids!!! And we have 2 other nursery classes, that's a lot of kids. On top of that we were not released from our other callings Ward Activities Director & Perfecting the Saints (service coordinator for the Elders Quroum).

Sorry no camera! One Boring Post!

Here's a old photo of our cul-de-sac, we actually live in a double cul-de-sac. Where one road leads to a dead end with two cul-de-sac's it makes for very little traffic.

I left my camera at my mom's house, so this post might be a little boring.

Nothing makes you feel like the mother of 4 children , more than summer vacation. When they are all home, all day, always demanding your time an attention it gets a little crazy. Thankfully the grocery store in SF has a cooking class in the mornings on Monday. They let your kids go for free and they stay there for 30-40 minutes making cute cooking projects. And I get to shop with only 1 little 1 year old girl. The rest of our summer days have been filled with sunscreen, quarters for the mini sno-cone stands that pop up in the cul-de-sac, and me with with the neighborhood moms chatty-chat-chatting (at least that's what my girls call it!).

Tips for strengthening your marriage

Today in Church we were having a wonderful lesson on strengthening your marriage. Sis. Davis was doing great and people were sharing wonderful comments on how to communicate better. One sister shared this one "If you jump their bones more often, they do more things for you" Women were crying in laughter, I hope she wasn't offended. She's probably right, but it was still hilarious. This is not her first comment like this, but it was about "not giving it to them". Funny huh!
